You havent used one of your cars in a couple of weeks and your handbrake pops off when you drive away after seizing on. Sounded like a damn gunshot. Ive been driving the E36 instead of the Twingo for a while so she has just been sitting. I need to chock it and leave the handbrake off next time.

I drove my
white ‘86 205
for the first time in about a month today. I’ve got too many cars, so this one was left to sit. Anyway, the neighbors did look when I struggled to get it started. Got it running after cranking for almost a minute. My utter inexperience with a manual choke, the cold weather and it having sat for a month didn’t help.

Gotta say, the Twingo is a nice looking little hatchback.

She polishes up well, would love an RS though. Bit more aggressive and the ride height is a bit less.... crossovery.

I still really like the current and last gen Twingos....neat little cars! :)

Got a GT with the 1.2 turbo and it’s rather nice, although a bit thirsty for it’s size.

My base spec NA 1.2 is oddly thirsty too. You have to be pretty careful to get 40mpg out if it, especially in winter.

Ive always kinda wanted a 205 and Im not sure I even know why, they just seem fun. Perhaps one day I’ll pick up a cheap one like yours.

Theyre good fun, very comfortable for a city car too.

I think it might be down to the super short gearing, mine could really do with a 6th gear.

Mine wouldnt be able to turn a higher gear, but its at 4000rpm at 80mph. All of my driving is motorway too.

I own three. They really are fun. Very light and simple. I don’t know about the UK, but they’re saying out fast over here. I imagine the GTIs have become expensive in the UK as well. Look for an XS, preferably 1980s. It’s the model directly below the GTi with the GTi interior and two carbs (if 1980s). About 80 HP I believe, 800 kg.

Damn autocorrect, I meant they’re dying out fast.
